DARLENE ANN HARRIS

Darlene Harris, 64, of Granton was pronounced dead Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at her home on Pelsdorf Avenue.

Darlene Ann Kuehn was born April 21, 1944, in Neillsville the daughter of Harry and Hilda (Lautenbach) Kuehn. She attended grade school in rural Granton and graduated from Granton High School. After finishing school, she helped on the family farm. She was united in marriage to Richard Harris in 1971. They owned and operated Harris Logging, and for over 20 years she was the skid operator. Richard died in 1995. In 1997, Darlene began working as a CNA at the Memorial Nursing Home in Neillsville until her illness forced her retirement.

Darlene attended the United Methodist Church. She loved her animals and working outdoors.

She is survived by one son, Kevin (Diane) Harris of Neillsville; four grandchildren, Michelle (Scott) Schultz of Fountain, CO, Kurt Dahl of Geneva City, Jason Dahl of Coloma and Craig Dahl of Marshfield; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell (Sharon) Kuehn of Granton and Gerold (Donna) Kuehn of Neillsville; a brother-in-law, Rodney Langles of California; five sisters-in-law, Erna Kuehn of Neillsville, Bonnie Zitzleburger of Lewiston, ID, Hilda Daume of Texas and Sandy Hetchler and Sherry Davis, both of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Harris; her parents; two brothers, Lester Kuehn Sr. and Roger Kuehn; and two sisters-in-law, Peggy Kuehn and Arlene Kuehn.

No funeral services are planned.
