Weast, Ada M. (3 Apr. 1859 - 20 Sept. 1945)

Mrs. Ada M. Weast was interred in the Greenwood cemetery Sunday, September 23, following funeral services which were conducted at the Lowe funeral home. The Rev. Floyd A. Fahlgren officiated.

Mrs. Weast died at Neillsville on September 20, after an illness of five years. She was 86 years of age.

Mrs. Ada Weast, nee Carnes, was born on April 3, 1859, in Jefferson county and was educated there. On January 25, 1881, she was married to Edwin Eli Weast in Hebron, Wis. Four children were born to them. After her marriage she and her husband moved to Kansas, where they operated a farm for a brief time.

They returned to Wisconsin in a covered wagon in 1882 and settled in Clark county near Christie. After the death of her husband in February, 1911, Mrs. Weast managed the farm alone for 10 years. In 1920 she moved to Neillsville, where she resided until her death.

Mrs. Weast was an active member of the Methodist church and Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by four children: Mrs. Joseph A. (Pearl) Lea, Seattle, Wash.; Lloyd E. Weast, Kansas City; Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Dwyer and William Weast both of Neillsville. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
