Horvat, Helen (21 JAN 1942)

At 9:30 o’clock Wednesday morning, January 21, at the Holy Family Catholic church, Willard, with the Nuptial Mass, Miss Helen Horvat, daughter of Mrs. Johanna Horvat, and Valentine Krainz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Krainz, made their marriage vows before the Rev. Fr. Raphael Stragisher, O. F. M.

Both the bride and groom are of the town of Hendren.

The bridal procession marched up the center of the church in this order: first one of the bridesmaids and met the usher coming into the church from the sacristy and the other bridesmaid coming up the center of the church and met by the best man at the altar and last the bride herself on the arm of her eldest brother, John, and met the groom coming from the sacristy at the altar.

Mrs. Leonard Rauen played the wedding march on the church organ, and Miss Margaret Volosek sang songs appropriate for the occasion. Both are friends of the bride.

The bride was dressed in a white satin gown with long sleeves and a long veil which was caught to a tiara headdress with orange blossoms. She also wore a heart locket on a chain, a gift of the groom. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and white freesias.

Miss Antonia Krainz, sister of the groom, and Miss Josephine Laken, a friend of the bride attended as bridesmaids, the former in pink taffeta, while the latter wore aqua blue taffeta. All gowns were ankle length. Both wore headdresses to match the gowns, namely little short veils with flowers on their heads. Both carried bouquets of pink carnations and sashes to match.

The groom was attended by two close friends, Stanley Rajk, as best man, and Fred Shiltz Jr., who ushered. All men wore dark suits, and the groom wore a white carnation as a boutonniere, while the other two wore red carnations, all with ferns.

White and aqua streamers of crepe paper, with large white paper bells, decorated the home of the bride’s mother. After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s mother and a reception was held in the evening, with covers laid for about 150 friends and relatives.

A large three-tiered wedding cake centered the bridal table, with pink carnations decorating the wedding supper, which was served from 6 o’clock on.

Guests from away were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Frantz of Neillsville, Miss Mary Ann Laken on Eau Claire, Mrs. Samuel Kram and daughters Constance and Nancy of Milwaukee, the Rev. J. J. Novak of Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wade of Rantoul, Illinois.

The newlyweds left on a two week-honeymoon trip through Wisconsin and Illinois.

A free wedding dance was held in the evening at the West Side Hall, with a large crowd in attendance.

They will be at home to their friends with the groom’s parents on a farm.

The Tribune extends congratulations.Seif and Hendren Cor.
