Abbotsford, Wis. -- Richard Anthony Schecklman, 52, of Abbotsford, Wisconsin, died Monday, July 7, 2008, in the Emergency Room, Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Services are pending.

Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Richard 'Dick' Schecklman

Abbotsford, Wis. -- Richard A. "Dick" Schecklman, 52, of Abbotsford, passed away Monday, July 7, 2008, in the Emergency Department of Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. Marcia Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow in Abbotsford Public Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Maurina/Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Richard was born Nov. 21, 1955, in Neillsville, to Anthony and Anita (Genskow) Schecklman. He attended grade school in Loyal and graduated from Loyal High School. After high school, Dick worked for Schreiner's Plumbing and Heating in Marshfield for five years. On Oct. 2, 1982, Dick married Sandra Witt in Stanley. They resided in Abbotsford, Wis. Richard was then employed by A.M.P.I. in Abbotsford which later became Foremost Farms. Later Dick transferred to the Foremost Farms operation in the town of Milan in Marathon County. At the same time Dick also worked at Jakel Plumbing in Abbotsford, Wis. Richard and Sandra divorced in 2005, but Dick continued to reside in Abbotsford, Wis.

He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Abbotsford, a former Loyal FFA member, a former member of both the Abbotsford Jaycees and the Abbotsford Lions Club. In his spare time Dick had only one passion: his cars. He never, ever, missed the Iola Car Show held every year in Iola.

Dick is survived by his former wife, Sandy Schecklman of Jim Falls; their children, Brandon of Jim Falls and Dustin of Abbotsford, Wis. He is further survived by his siblings, Bonnie (Lee) Dietsche of Loyal, Jolene (Tom) Zwicke of Wisconsin Rapids, Tim (Mary) Schecklman of Georgia and Patricia (Ken) Kromanaker of Marshfield; also survived by many other relatives and friends.
