Wallmuth, Mildred (15 FEB 1947)

Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), was the scene on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 15, 1947, of the marriage of Miss Mildred Wallmuth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wallmuth, Sr., of Merrillan, and John Henry Subke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Subke, Neillsville. The Rev. N. J. Dechant, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony. Miss Gertrude Hauser furnished music for the service.

The bride wore a gown of white satin and had a lace-trimmed veil, caught to a headpiece of orange blossoms, which had been worn by the groom’s aunt at her wedding 40 years ago. Her flowers were American beauty roses, and she wore a strand of pearls which were a gift of the groom. For her going away, the bride chose a grey pin striped wool suit and had black accessories. Miss Dorothy Subke and Robert, sister and brother of the groom, were attendants.

A reception was held at the Fred Subke home for 33 guests. The house was decorated with pink and white. The supper table was decorated with pink and white, and candle lighted. It was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake.

The bride attended the Merrillan schools and recently has been employed at the local Weidenhoff plant. The groom attended Neillsville High School one year. He is employed by the county. After a wedding trip to Arcadia, the young couple will be at home to their friends at the home of the groom’s parents.

Out of town wedding guests who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wallmuth, Jr., Merrillan, brother and sister-in-law of the bride; Mrs. Charley Kronski, Merrillan, sister of the bride; Mrs. Harold Butterfield and Miss Lucille Butterfield, Merrillan; Miss Bernice Yonkee, Medford. Other guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Brookins and son, Bert, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dobes, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Schultz and son Duane, Mrs. Legare Apfel, Johnny Apfel, Jr., and Mrs. Norman White, Mrs. Mads Madsen and daughter, Anna Mae.
