Jackson, Elaine F. (22 MAY 1947)

Miss Elaine Florence Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Jackson of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of William Glen Zilk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zilk of Neillsville, in a double ring ceremony performed at 9 o’clock on Thursday, May 22, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Fr. John J. Pritzl performed the ceremony. The church was decorated with flowers and potted plants.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a long white gown of slipper satin with a fitted bodice and long sleeves and a long train. Her long veil, lace-edged, fell from a headdress of embroidered pearls. She carried a bouquet of plumes and pink and white roses. Her jewelry was a single strand of pearls.

The bride’s sisters, Misses Carole and Marjorie Jackson, were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by his brothers, Joseph Zilk, Jr. and Francis Zilk.

Music was furnished by the church choir. They sang "Ave Maria" and "On This Day, Oh Beautiful Mother."

A reception was held for 75 guests at the home of the bride’s parents. The house was decorated with white, pink and blue streamers, cut flowers and candles. A large wedding bell was hung in the center of the dining room.

The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School and the Antigo Business College. The past two and a half years she has been employed by the National Farm Loan at Greenwood. The groom is a graduate of the Neillsville High School and attended the University of Wisconsin before entering military service. He is now working at the Zilk villa.

After their return from a wedding trip to Milwaukee, Chicago and Ohio points, they will reside in Neillsville.
