Ehlers, Jeanette R. (17 AUG 1947)

Jeanette R. Ehlers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ehlers, and Robert C. Braatz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Braatz, exchanged wedding vows on Aug. 17, 1947 at the American Lutheran Parsonage in the town of Grant (Clark Co., Wis.). The Rev. L. Domke officiated.

The bride was gowned in a fitted bodice gray crepe ensemble, with gold buttons from the neck to the waist line, and with long tapered sleeves. Her accessories were of dark navy blue, and a corsage of pale pink tea roses. In her hair was a spray of ivory tea roses.

Mrs. Dorothy Meyer of Milwaukee, a sister of the bride, was the bridesmaid. Her golden brown gown was fashioned with snug bodice and Madonna neckline, and she wore a band of ivory tea roses in her hair.

The bridegroom wore a tan gabardine suit.

Clarence Braatz was best man for his brother, Robert.

The bride attended Central State Teachers College and is now employed in the Neillsville School.

Robert Braatz is a graduate of Neillsville High School. He has been in the service the past three years and is now employed with the Wadham’s Oil Co.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Ernest Begley cottage on Lake Arbutus, where 200 relatives were served and many beautiful gifts were received.

The couple left for Niagara Falls on a honeymoon.

After Sept. 1, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Braatz will be at home in the Lorraine apartments.
