Hamilton, Birdie Dickinson (28 DEC 1879 - 31 JAN 1934)

Birdie Dickinson was born in the town of Frankfort, Marathon County, Wis., December 28, 1879, and came as a small child with her parents to Riverside where she has since resided.

She was united in marriage to Robert Hamilton of Riverside, on December 1, 1900, and passed away at her home January 31, 1934, her husband preceding her in death on August 4, 1933.

She was the mother of nine children, one having died in infancy. She leaves to mourn her loss the following children: Hugh of Shickshinny, Pa., Mrs. Clarence Frederick of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Otto Brohm of Cherokee, Glenn, Robert, Rodney, Helen and Niles at home. Also two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. A. L. Cramer of Venice, Calif., Mrs. August Strebe of Abbotsford, Earl Dickinson of Milwaukee, and George of Riverside, and seven grandchildren. All of the children were present at the funeral except the son Hugh.

She was a kind and loving mother and her devotion to the family circle had no limit. A woman of Christian character, patient, loving and self-sacrificing. Life will never be quite the same to those who knew her, while those nearest to her will long for a mother’s council and advice, and gentle loving sympathy.

Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church in Abbotsford Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock following a service in the home at Riverside, the Rev. L. C. Smith officiating. Four nieces of the deceased acted as flower bearers and four of the pallbearers were nephews. Interment was made in Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery,

Those from away who were here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Bunnell of Stevens Point, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson of Withee, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fredricks and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fredricks of Chippewa Falls, and Mrs. Nels Peterson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
