Soppeland, Florence (Marriage - 5 June 1946)

Miss Florence Soppeland of Neillsville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Soppeland of Eau Claire, became the bride of Frank Matas, Jr., son of Frank Matas, Sr., Chicago, on June 5 in a ceremony performed at the A. C. Covell residence. The Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiated.

The bride wore a street length dress of white mesh with lace trim. A white flower hat, with a shoulder length veil, white gloves and purse completed her ensemble. Her flowers were a corsage of pink roses and lilies of the valley.

Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wagner.

Following the ceremony a lunch was served for the bridal party and guests.

The bride is a graduate of the Eau Claire High School and was employed in Eau Claire before coming to Neillsville last spring. She is now employed at the Wagner Café.

The bridegroom attended the Granton High School and was with the Service Company for six years. Since his discharge from the army he has been employed in Neillsville.

After a brief wedding trip in northern Wisconsin, the couple will return to Neillsville to make their home.

Guests present at the wedding were: Frank Matas, Sr., Mrs. Hubert Wesley and Diana Wesley, all of Chicago; Frank Soppeland, Mrs. William McLaughlin and Mrs. Warren Horn, all of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Covell and children.
