Carpenter, William (22 January 1876 - 20 May 1948)

Funeral services for William Carpenter, 72, were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton. Burial was made in the Windfall Cemetery. He died on Thursday evening at his home near Granton following a heart attack.

Mr. Carpenter was born in the Town of Fremont on January 22, 1876. He was a retired mill worker. He lived in Marshfield for 20 years and later went to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For the past five years he was resided near Granton.

Surviving are six children, Mrs. Andrew (Hope) Dietzler of Midland, Mich.; Lois and Warren of Stevens Point; Victor of Spencer; John of Wisconsin Rapids and David of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

There are 16 grandchildren and two sisters, Addie and Sylvia Lockwidge, both of San Diego, Cal.
