Behringer, Norman J. (December 19, 1906 - May 14, 1992)

Norman Behringer

Greenwood - Norman Behringer, 85, Owen, died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday at Colonial House Living Center, Colby, Wis.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, with the Reverend Paul Reede of Neillsville officiating. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Herald Heck Jr., Joshua Kilen, Jack Anfinson, Ronald Nedeau, Fred Awe and Albert Pogadzinski.

He was born December 19, 1906 to the late Jacob and Louise (Schmidt) Behringer in Manitowoc County. He attended Hemlock School in the Greenwood area. He married Leona Schulte August 14, 1929 at the Town of Colby, Wis.

After his marriage, they lived in Loyal for three years while he worked for the railroad. In 1932, they moved to the family farm in the Town of Warner where they farmed until retiring in 1977. They built a home on the property and lived there after retiring.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Norbert of North Branch, Minn., and Verland of Walsenburg, Colo.; on daughter, Mr. Herald (Wilma) Heck of Greenwood; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He also was predeceased by six sisters and two brothers.
