Paun, Helen (Marriage - 11 September 1948)

St. John’s Catholic Church in San Francisco was the scene last Saturday of the wedding of Miss Helen Paun, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Paun of Granton. Miss Paun has been employed with the Southern Pacific Company in San Francisco for the past three years. She married Richard Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Nelson of San Francisco.

The formal ceremony was solemnized by the Rev. Victor Wilkiemeyer. The bride was given in marriage by John Adams, a close friend of her family. She wore a period gown of heavy white satin, with bustle and full train. Her fingertip veil of illusion was caught from a Mary Stuart headdress of stiffened net and seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of stephanotis and ivy, centered in a white orchid.

Miss Valora Nelson was maid of honor and Mrs. V. E. Stehenne and Miss Margory Gordon were bridesmaids. The three were gowned identically in ice blue satin frocks. Best man was Robert Sharp, Jr., and ushers were Jack Sloan and Gib Madison.

During the ceremony Miss Jaennie Scheacher offered vocal selections. After the wedding a reception was held for some 200 guests at the Hotel Shattuck. The couple will be at home in San Francisco where the groom is in business, after a two-week wedding trip.
