Granton High School Class of 1940 (30 Year Reunion - 1970)

The class of 1940 Granton High School held their 30-year reunion last Saturday evening. A few members enjoyed an outing at Sherwood Park during early afternoon. A social hour took place from 6:30 to 7:30, f9ollowed by a dinner and meeting at Bali Hai Supper Club.

Martin Rosandich welcomed members and guests and Glenn Brinkmeier presided over the meeting. Fifteen of 34 members of the class were present. Only two classmates, Neva Marg Schnur and Henry Kidd, are deceased.

Mrs. Verna Mallory of Neillsville, former commercial teacher, and he Rev. Willard Schulz, former Science teacher, and his wife, of Madison were guests. The school board members whose signature appeared on the diplomas of 1940, William Naedler and Mrs. William Schmidtke, also were guests. Mrs. Naedler, Mr. Schmidtke and Mrs. Violet Spry, wife of the late Lloyd Spry, who was the president of the school board, were also guests.

Class members attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Norman (Dorothy Beilke) Braatz, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert (Evelyn Hales) Dudei and John Hammond of Granton, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Bergemann of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Brinkmeier of Oxford, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Cattanach of Newport, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Glenzer of Wisconsin Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Arvin (Anna Haines) Liebzeit of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Ewald (Ida Hillert) Hinklemann and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hillert of Rockford, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Chapman Paulson of Wisconsin Dells, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley Hope Preston) Watson of Trafalgar, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Walter (Gladys Riedal) Piat of Waukegan, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Martin Rosandich of West Allis and James R. Todd of Rockford, Ill.

It was agreed to have the next reunion on the last Saturday of July, 1975.
