Wegner, Eugene Rodney (30 September 1929 - 15 July 1949)

Eugene Wegner, 19 of Neillsville, died July 15, 1949, at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire. His death was due to poliomyelitis.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 18, at the Bergemann Funeral Home. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery, the Rev. N. J. Dechant officiating.

Eugene Rodney was born on September 30, 1929, at Eau Clarie. He spent his entire life in Clark County. He was graduated from Neillsville High School with the class of ’48. In his senior year he was chosen president of the class and captain of the football team. He was also a member of the high school band. He attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison for one year. While there he was a member of the R.O.T.C. He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Meinholdt, one sister, Joan, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wegner.
