Murray, Emily (28 DEC 1872 - 7 NOV 1946)

Mrs. Fred Murray, nee Emily Spaulding, was laid to rest in Forest Cemetery at Stevens Point, Sunday, Nov. 10. She had passed away a week ago this evening at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital where she had been a medical patient for the past ten days. Funeral services were conducted from the Episcopal Church of Intercession at Stevens Point, Sunday at 2 p.m. with Dr. K. O. Crosby of St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church officiating.

Pallbearers at the service were: Frank Cook, A. P. smith, Alex Wallace, Otto Zimmer, Ole Larson and Frank Leahy.

Emily Spaulding was born on Dec. 28, 1872 at Holton, Maine. On April 23, 1902, at Stevens Point she was united in marriage to Fred H. Murray, where the couple resided for sixteen years before moving to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), where she had since made her home for 28 years.

Mrs. Murray was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Lodge and a true Christian. For years she had been handicapped by ill health which necessitate her being confined to her home the majority of the time. Despite this handicap she was the possessor of a loving personality and a commendable spirit. Surviving her are her husband and a daughter, Mrs. Emily Guthrie, Michigan; and a brother, Roy Spaulding. Three brothers, Harry, Fred and Burt have preceded her in death.

Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Parkinson and Mrs. L. W Cattanach drove to Stevens Point to attend her funeral services.
