Auman, Frank, Sr. (7 July 1885 - 7 October, 1949)

Frank Auman, Sr., son of John Auman and Mary Korosec was born at Dvorja, Yugoslavia on July 7, 1885, being 64 years old and three months at the time of his death, which occurred October 7, 1949 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield. Mr. Auman grew to manhood in Europe and came to Ely, Minn., where he was engaged in iron ore mining. On October 26, 1912, in Ely, he was married to Angela Frakils.

October 19, 1915, together with his wife and family, he came to Clark County in the Gorman vicinity, where he was engaged in farming. A few years ago he retired and lived in Willard village.

To this union were born eight children: Frank, Jr., home farm; (Antonia) Mrs. John Panyan, Victor, (Angeline) Mrs. John Verhunce, all of Greenwood; (Mary) Mrs. Vern Dergance, Chicago; Annie, Los Angeles, Cal.; (Steffie) Mrs. Ignatz Gabrovec, Willard; Felix, Willard.

Funeral was held on Monday, October 10, at 2:00 o’clock from the home on to the national cemetery at Willard with the S. N. P. J. Lodge in charge.

Pallbearers were Matt Malnar, Jake Decmen, Louis Zorman, Anton Furlan, Blaz Kuznacic, and Albert Musich.

Relatives and friends from away were Mr. and Mrs. John Panyan, Duluth; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Dergance and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Morris, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Auman, Mr. and Mrs. John Verhunce, Greenwood.

Surviving are his wife, the above named children, 15 grandchildren and one brother, John in Willard.
