Brown, Mary Romaine (17 November 1866 - 20 November 1949)

Mary Romaine Brown was born Nov. 17, 1866, in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, and died November 20, 1949, in Inglewood, Cal., at the age of 83. At the age of 3 years her parents moved to Clark County where she grew to womanhood, teaching in the public schools of Clark County.

On October 24, 1895, she was married to the late Chas. H. Brown of Loyal, where they made their home until 1926. Then they moved to Long Beach, Cal. In 1934 they moved to Inglewood, Cal.

In 1936 she was left a widow, but continued her residence in Inglewood, where she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was also an active member of the National Society of the Hard of Hearing. She continued her membership in the Iris Chapter of Order of Easter Star at Loyal, where she was a charter member.

Besides a large number of friends, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. John Graves of Long Beach, Cal., and Jennie Eunson of Inglewood, Cal.; four grandchildren: Mrs. John Jakobi (Jane Brown) of Greenwood, Chas. Brown of Colby, Mrs. Earl Sale (Mary Louise Brown) and Harry Brown of Cal.; five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews in Wisconsin and California.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 23, 1949. Interment was by the side of her husband in Inglewood Park Cemetery.
