Olson, Peter M. #3 (2 JUN 1876 - 3 FEB 1947)

Peter M. Olson, 70, Rt. 4, Merrill, died Monday, Feb. 3, 1947, at 1 a.m. at the Holy Cross hospital. He had been in ill health for several months and seriously ill since last December 1.

The Son of Arne C. and Ellen Johnson, he was born June 2, 1876 in Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.). He went to the Town of Merrill on Sept. 1, 1946.

He was married on March 2, 1901, at Owen, to Caroline Johnson, who died June 10, 1922.

Mr. Olson was a lumber inspector and worked for the government at Neopit for the last 12 years. Previous to this he was employed by the Bissell Co. in Tripoli and worked for other companies as a lumber inspector.

He was a member of the Tripoli Congregational Church.

Funeral services were conducted last Thursday from the Taylor Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. and at the Tripoli Congregational Church at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Harold Quail officiated. Interment was made in the Tripoli Cemetery.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. R. A. (Elvina) Moore, Town of Merrill; Mrs. Oscar (Ann) Odegard and Mrs. Stuart (Clare) Blumenstein, both of Merrill, and Mrs. Carl (Kathryn) Larsen, Tomah; four sons, Lionel A. Rice Lake; John C., Unity; Harold J. Merrill, and Joseph L., Unity; four brothers, Olaf, Neillsville; Tony, Curtiss; Fred, Colby and Maurice, Hilbert; and five grandchildren. A daughter, Luella, and an infant daughter preceded him in death.
