On Saturday afternoon, March 15, 1947, at 4:15 p.m., as the sun came in the windows of the Little Chapel of the Roses of Glen Abby Park, Chula Vista, Calif., Miss Gretchen Y. Acker of San diego, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Acker of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Arthur G. Hokenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Hokenson of National City, Calif.

With a background of organ music and songs of six yellow canaries housed in the isles of living green inside the church. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Leslie Hendren, Methodist minister of Glen Abby Park.

The bride was attired in a neutral beige gabardine suit, with black accessories, and wore a corsage of red roses. Her roommate, Miss Hazel G. Parker of San Diego, as bridesmaid, wore a pale gren suit, with black accessories and a corsage of yellow roses.

The groom’s suit was dark blue, and the best man, Alton L. Ayer, friend of the groom from National City, wore a dark suit.

In the evening a 7:00 o’clock wedding dinner was served to the bridal party in the dining room of Top’’s Restaurant in San Diego. The couple left on a short honeymoon, after which they will be at home at 31 East 1st St., National City, Calif.

The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School, with the class of 1940, and attended school at Eau Claire, after being employed in Eau Claire, La Crosse and Pepin, she went to San Diego in May 1945, where she became employed by the San Diego Production Credit Association, the firm she is still with.

The groom a member of the traffic squad on the National city Police Force since June 1941, attended Sweetwater High School in National City, and is a veteran of World War II.
