Kumm, Dianne LaVonne (Marriage - 1970)

Miss Dianne LaVonne Kumm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest O. Kumm of Rt. 1 Pittsville, was united in marriage to Charles Lee Butterbrodt, so of Mr and Mrs. William Butterbrodt of Rt. 2 Loyal, Saturday at ceremonies in the United Church of Christ in Pittsville. The Rev. Conrad Mickelson performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of approximately 250 guests.

The bride wore a floor-length, A-line dress of white silk organza and Chantilly lace, with a round neckline and lace bodice with seed pearl trim. The dress had long sleeves with lace appliqués and a detachable chapel train. She wore a floral headpiece with seed pearl trim and a silk illusion veil. She carried a cascade arrangement of white ‘mums, pink happiness and junior bridesmaid roses, with accents of pearl sprays and glacier ivy, as she was escorted to the altar by her father.

Miss Janet Butterbrodt of Loyal was maid-of-honor, and Mrs. Raymond (Trudy) Kumm of Nekoosa and Miss Linda Bucker of Pittsville were bridesmaids. They wore identical floor-length dresses of silk organza in aqua, yellow and Nile green. They had high necklines with long lady bishop sleeves; gathered skirts with lace and leaf trim at the neckline, waistline and cuffs. They wore matching bow clip headpieces with pouf veil, and carried round, fall-away bouquets of starburst pompons in tinted colors of their dresses.

Maynard Bowe of Greenwood was bestman. Raymond Kumm of Nekoosa and William Pagelsdorf of Loyal were groomsmen. David Kumm of Wisconsin Rapids and Kenneth Schultz of Granton were ushers, Karla Kumm of Nekoosa was the flowergirl wearing a pink gown.

Mara Lee Capling sang, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Capling. Both are from Pittsville.

A reception was held at the American Legion Hall, with a supper at 4 p.m. and a dance that evening at the Pittsville Community Hall. Approximately 250 guests attended.

The bride graduated from Pittsville High School in 1962 and had been employed in Pittsville as a bookkeeper. The groom graduated from Loyal High School in 1962 and is farming.

After a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin and Michigan, the couple will make their home on Rt. 2, Loyal.
