Kloth, Lester H. (February 11, 1919 - October 13, 2008)

Lester H. Kloth, 89, Dorchester, died Monday Oct 13, 2008 at Aspirus Hospital, Wausau.

Mr. Kloth was born February 11, 1919 in Medford, Wisconsin, the son of Henry and Mary (Heinz) Kloth. He attended the Barry School in the town Holton. Lester then worked in his father’s cheese factory in the town of Holton and later at the Parson’s Cheese factory.

On March 23, 1940 in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, Lester was united in marriage to the former Gertrude Schwartz. Following their marriage Lester worked on the Schwartz family farm which the couple later purchased. In addition to farming, Mr. Kloth worked as a mechanic at the Seidel Brothers Garage, Dorchester, Wis. He then worked as a welder, for Northern Star Mobile Homes in Stratford and retired from Dorchester Towers in 1978. In retirement Lester drove the road grader and snow plow for the town of Holton for many years.

Lester was the neighborhood fix-it-man; he enjoyed recycling and reusing scrap and salvaged items. He loved being outdoors fishing, hunting and snowmobiling and riding his three wheeler around the farm.

Mr. Kloth is lovingly survived by his wife, Gertrude, Dorchester; children, Kenneth (Bonnie) Kloth, Merrill, Ruthann (James) Maw, Finger, TN, Jerry (Marlene) Kloth, Wausau, Bonnie (Robert) Svoboda, Colby, Lyle (LuAnn) Kloth, Dorchester and Jesse Kloth, Dorchester; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Three sisters, Evelyn Denzin, Wausau, Joyce Kloth, Wausau and Barbara (Robert) Umnus, Wausau.

He was preceded in death by one son, David, granddaughter, Crystal, great grandson, Ricky and a brother Melvin.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct 17, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home, Dorchester, Wis. The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will preside. Burial will be in the Dorchester Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home, Dorchester and again on Friday one hour prior to service time.
