Arola, Elma (17 SEP 1908 - 14 SEP 1947)

Miss Elma Arola was born at Republic, Mich., on Sept. 17, 1908. She moved to a farm in the town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1912, where she completed her elementary schooling. She attended Owen High School, graduating with the class of 1925.

She died of a lingering illness Sunday morning, Sept. 14, 1947, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Arola, in the village of Withee.

Funeral services were conducted from the Finnish Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Sept. 17, , with Rev. Viljo Puotinen officiating.

Those left to mourn her passing are her parents, one brother, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Arola, one niece, one nephews, an aunt in Wakefield, Mich., and several cousins, several aunts and uncle in Finland and a host of friends including the Finnish Lutheran Congregation, of which she was a member.

Pallbearers at the services were: Chas. Karye, Einar Finnila, Toivo Makinen, George Eloranta, Kayo Make and Edwin Salo.

Mrs. Kauno Niemi, Mrs. Wm. Kangas, Mrs. Frank Luoma, Mrs. Thorwald Stigsen and Miss Irene Halme sang two songs, accompanied by Mrs. Puotinin, who served as organist.
