Susa, Gilbert D. (7 May 1924 - 7 May 2008) Gilbert "Scotty" D. Susa, age 84 of Clintonville, WI, passed away peacefully with his loved ones at his side Wednesday May 7, 2008 at the Angelus Retirement Community in Clintonville.

Gilbert was born on May 7, 1924 in Clark County, WI. He was the son of the late Albert and Lydia (McCammant) Susa. Gilbert grew up near Neillsville, WI and as a young man joined the United States Marine Corps, actively serving in various places during WWII. After his service to his country, Gilbert was united in marriage to Beulah Gray in Martinsville, VA. The couple had 2 children and were later divorced. Gilbert was later united in marriage to Dorothy Olson who also preceded him in death. He was employed as a carpenter for various Clintonville area builders and had lived in and around the Clintonville area for the majority of his life. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #53 and was a life member of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63. He was definitely a U.S. Marine at heart who loved to hunt, fish, and play cards. He loved his family and would especially enjoy spending time with his great-grandchildren.

Survivors are: His daughter: Nancy (Paul) Eberhardt, Clintonville. His Son: Ed Susa, Colorado Springs, CO. His close and dear friend: Gladys Buntrock, Clintonville. 2 Grandchildren: Carrie (Cory) Peeters, Seymour. Andy (Amy) Eberhardt, Clintonville. 3 Great-Grandchildren: Spencer Eberhardt, Cacy Peeters, and Blake Knope. 2 Brothers: Al (Janet) Susa, Wautoma & Bill (Marilyn) Dangers, West Allis. Also his extended family: Dennis (Kathy) Buntrock,Shawano. Dave (Debbie) Buntrock, Clintonville. Karen (John) Laux, Marion. And Families.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, his wives, and a brother Edward Susa.

Funeral services will be held Friday May 9, 2008 at 4 P.M. at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home in Clintonville with the Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating and interment will be at the Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville with military honor rites being conducted by members of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63, the D.A.V. Chapter #53, and the Clintonville VFW Post #664.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday only from 2 P.M. until the time of the services.

Gilbert’s family would like to give special thanks to the staffs of Theda Care at Home Hospice and the Angelus Retirement Community for the wonderful care they provided for Gilbert over the past couple months.
