Wagner, Mr. & Mrs. William J. (Golden 12 April 1900 - 1950)

Friends and relatives gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Wagner, 151 N. Hewett Street, on Easter Sunday to help them celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.

A buffet style luncheon was served to more than sixty guests. Both Mr. and Mrs. Wagner wore carnations; Mrs. Wagner a corsage of white and pink flowers and Mr. Wagner a single white carnation boutonniere. Throughout the house were numerous bouquets from well-wishers. A white daffodil and snap-dragon bouquet served as a centerpiece for the table. A three-tier wedding cake, beautifully decorated with yellow roses, also served as center of attention of the table.

Mr. and Mrs. Wagner have had nine children, five of whom are still living. There are twenty grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Wagner is 72 and Mr. Wagner will soon be 71.

D. Schiefholz and son, Elmhurst, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Willis Brickheimer and children, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thur and children, Fairchild; Mr. and Mrs. John Wagner and family, Howard Oelke and Walter Oelke, Jr. Milwaukee; Ted Wagner and family, Cadott; Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Carlson and children, Villa Park, Ill.; William E. Wagner, Jr., and family, Walter E. Oelke and sons and Miss Joyce Tyler, Cornell; Lewis Oelke, Merrill; Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Oelke and daughter, Eau Claire.

Mr. and Mrs. Wagner received many fine gifts and cards.

They were married April 12, 1900 by the Rev. George W. Longenecker.
