Fricke, Bertha (19 July 1895 - 12 Jan. 1957)

Mrs. Bertha Fricke, who lived most of her life in the town of Hull, died unexpectedly, at the age of 61 years, of a heart attack Saturday afternoon in Eagle River where she had been employed as a housekeeper for about a year. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Lulloff Funeral Home, Rev. Roger B. Knutsen, pastor of the Methodist church here, officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Wilbur Becker, Henry Aderhold, Carl Dallman, Walther Gasch, Richard Behrens and George Carr.

Mrs. Fricke, daughter of the late Frederick and Wilhelmina Wolk, was born in McKeesport, Pa., on July 19, 1895. She came to this area with her parents at the age of two years and lived here until moving to Eagle River about a year ago. She married Edward Fricke at Colby on December 30, 1914, and until the time of his death in July, 1953, they made their home on a farm in the town of Hull. She was a member of the Cherokee Women’s Association.

Survivors are two sons, Orville and Edward, Jr., of the town of Hull; three daughters, Miss Hazel Fricke of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Robert (Louise) Ebann of Homewood, Ill., and Mrs. Carl (Mae) Ebann of Woodruff; a brother, Emil of Colby; eight grand children.
