Young, Hazel (14 SEP 1943)

Two young people from Loyal, Miss Hazel Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Young, route two, and Vernon Peter Rogstad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rogstad, also of route two, were united in marriage at 10 o’clock ceremony Tuesday morning, Sept. 14, at Loyal, the Rev. Aloys Zinthefer of St. Anthony’s Catholic church officiating.

Serving as maid of honor was miss Dorothy Rogstad of Loyal, sister of the groom, and best man was Harold Rogstad, brother of the groom. Miss Norma young of Loyal, sister of the bride, and Donald Degenhardt of Loyal, cousin of the bride, were the other attendants.

The bride was attired in sheer white chiffon designed with sweetheart neckline and lace trim. Her fingertip net veil with Alencon lace fell from a tiara of seed pearls, and she carried a shower bridal bouquet of American Beauty roses and white gladiolas. Her jewelry consisted of a several strand pearl necklace.

Miss Rogstad wore a sheer yellow chiffon formal, accented with a shoulder veil of yellow net, and her corsage of rosebuds and asters was tied with yellow ribbon. Orchid frosted organdy with a shoulder-length veil of orchid net was worn by Miss Young, and her corsage was similar to that worn by the maid of honor.

Little Anita Rogstad of Loyal, the groom’s sister, served as flower girl, dressed in a floor-length gown of pink chiffon. She carried a bouquet of white gladiolas, asters and roses. Her little brother, Clarence Rogstad, was the ring bearer, carrying a white satin pillow with blue ribbon bows holding the rings. Clarence wore white trousers and a blue coat.

Mrs. Young wore a tan and white flowered dress for her daughter’s wedding, and the groom’s mother was attired in a sheer black dress with white trim. Both wore gladiolas and rose corsages.

Immediate relatives and friends were entertained at a dinner and supper at the home of the bride’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Verhalen, the home being decorated in white and orchid for the occasion. The bridal table had a decorated wedding cake with miniature bride and groom and bouquets of mixed gladiolas.

A wedding dance was held that night for relatives and friends at the Country Ballroom at Marshfield, with Lee Nelson and his orchestra of Loyal providing the music.

Relatives from out of town at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Anker Jergensen and family and Mr. and Mrs. George Collins and family, Kenosha; Mrs. Clara Burr, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Meyers and family and Miss Helen Rogstad of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Lorell S. Burr and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Drexler of Stratford, and Cpl. Rueben J. Rogstad of Scott Field, Ill.

The Tribune extends top the newlyweds its wishes for a happy wedded life.
