Kreiser, Alfred (28 FEB 1894 - 22 NOV 1943)

Alfred Kreiser, 49, died at St. Mary’s hospital in Wausau at 12:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, following a heart attack suffered while deer hunting.

Alfred Kreuser was born at West Bend on Feb. 28, 1894, and came to Loyal from Slinger with his parents when still a young boy. He graduated from Loyal high school in 1914.

He entered the barber profession, and on Apr. 19, 1917, he enlisted in the 127th Infantry band at Marshfield, serving foe 22 months, part of that time overseas.

Upon his return, he became manager of the Loyal telephone exchange, occupying that position for 14 years. He was engaged in telephone work in Wausau and Marathon county during the past eight years.

While in Loyal he served as a member of the Loyal village board. He was a charter member of the Loyal American Legion post, later transferring his membership to Wausau. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church at Wausau.

He is survived by his wife, a brother, Edwin Kreuser of Loyal and two sisters, Miss Bernadine Kreuser of Gillette and Mrs. Helen Schmitz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Military funeral rites were conducted at St. Anthony’s Catholic church at 9 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Aloys Zinthefer in charge of the services. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

The large crowd in attendance and the many floral offerings were sincere testimony of the love and esteem of those who knew him.

Those who served as pallbearers were Jesse Raab, William Murphy, Frank Christensen, Edd Dobbe, Dr. G. W. Nelson and Claude Catlin.

Schmidt of Gillette; Mrs. Nellie Ratelle, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ratelle, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anthofer and Mrs. Bert Paul of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Christensen, Bud Badeaux, Mr. Goucher and Mr. Neubauer of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lindner of Greenwood; Miss Beverly Tucker and R. J. Pollock of Wausau; Mrs. Will Krahn and George Sullivan of Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. John Stupe of Berlin; Archie Duranceau of Knowlton; Elmer Seefelt of Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ritger, Charles Hahn, Lloyd Felker and Will Besseler of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Haight of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schwerski of Colby, and Oscar Etta of Manitowoc.

The tribune adds its sympathy to that of friends and neighbors to the bereaved relatives of Mr. Kreiser in his death.
