Wuethrich, John S. #2 (20 JUN 1883 - 12 OCT 1948)

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. from the J. S. Wuethrich home, at 2 o’clock from the Grace Methodist Church, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), for one of Clark County’s most widely known and respected citizens, J. S. Wuethrich. The Reverends Lee Holmes of the Methodist Chruch and B. M. Fresenborg of the Zion Reformed Church will officiate at the final rites. Burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

John Wuethrich had been in failing health for the past two years and passed away at his home Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock.

John Samuel Wuethrich was born June 10, 1883 at Canton Bern, Switzerland, the third son of Samuel and Katherine Wuethrich. He came to the United States with his family in 1893 and settled in Woodland, Dodge Co.

In 1904 he came to Greenwood, where he was employed as a butter maker for Carl Grashorn in what is now the Armour Cheese House. Later he went to Doylestown and started a creamery with his two brothers, Alfred and Fred.

A short time later, Wuethrich returned to Greenwood and started a creamery in the Town of Eaton (Clark Co.).

He was married to Miss Vera Drummond at the Grace Methodist Church in Greenwood, June 10, 1909, by the Rev. William Norton.

He was graduated from the Dairy School at Madison in 1902, and took two short courses at the University of Wis. in 1920 and 1921.
