Kovaloski, Verona B. (31 DEC 1894 - 9 DEC 1948)

Mrs. John Kovaloski (Kowalowski), a resident of this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) since 1910, was laid to her final resting place in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery at Thorp, Monday morning, Dec. 13, 1948. A patient for the past many months, suffering from a lingering and incurable illness, she passed away a week ago today, Dec. 9th, 1948, at the Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.

Pallbearers at the service were: Jack Gummerson, Anton Ciokiewicz, Leonard Hamm, Henry Mauel, Sr., Frank Heimeral, and Edward Lehnen.

Mrs. John Kovaloski, nee Verona B. Kozlowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Kozlowski, was born on Dec. 31, 1894 in the village of Thorp. Here she received her education and on Feb. 21, 1910, was united in marriage to John Kovaloski and then moved to Owen where she had resided ever since.

The mother of three children, she had a lovable personality, was sincere with all of her friends and associates but still was the possessor of a quiet conservative mile manner that endowed her deeply to all that knew her.

Surviving her passing into eternity for which she had long prepared herself are: her husband, John; three daughters, Mrs. Mayland (Josephine) Malinowski, Thorp; Mrs. Charles (Stella) Heimeral, Eau Claire; Mrs. Frank (Helen) Cieslik, Owen; her mother, Agnes Kozlowski, Thorp; three sisters, Mary McDaniel, Ann Kozlowski and Helen Middano, Chicago. Her father, two brothers, Joseph and John, and a son John, have preceded her in death.
