Turenne, Grace (30 JAN 1947)

Miss Grace Turenne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Turenne of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of George Lobacz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Lobacz of Greenwood (Clark Co.), Jan. 30, 1947 at 9 a.m. in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at Thorp. The Rev. Father Muckerheide officiated at the nuptial mass.

The bride’s gown was of heavy white satin styled with a deep yoke of lace bordered with sequins, and a long skirt ending in a chapel train. Her locket was a gift from the groom. A bridal headdress and a fingertip veil of illusion completed her costume and she carried orchids and sweet peas.

Miss Betty Turenne, in a coral pink frock, the bodice of which was made of velvet and the bouffant skirt of net, was her sister’s maid of honor. Long white gloves and a matching blusher veil completed her costume. She carried pink and white canations.

Misses Helen and Regina Lobacz, wearing identical frocks in blue were bridesmaids. The bodices were of royal blue velvet and the net skirts, a powder blue color. Their blusher veils were of matching blue net and their lockets were gifts from the bride.

Both mothers wore black dresses and corsages of red roses. The bride’s grandmother also was presents for the occasion, and wore a corsage of roses with her black dress.

The groom’s attendants were Peter Kaz and Fred Kryzanowski.

Following the wedding services a reception was held at the Turenne home for the bridal couple. That evening a dance was given in the American Legion Hall at Thorp.

Out of town guests were Miss Helen and Regina Lobacz, Miss Betty Turenne, Fred Kryzanowski, Chicago; Mrs. Norman Roen and Mrs. George Lockbaum, Chippewa Falls.
