Miss Gladys Marie Maricle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Maricle of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Stanley John Michur, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Michur of Withee, in a ceremony conducted by Rev. Bornbach at Sacred Heart Church, Withee, Wis., at nine o’clock Saturday morning, April 19th, 1947.

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white satin and lace with a French illusion veil trimmed with lace and matching gown. She wore a string of seed pearls and the groom’s gift of a gold locket set with rubies. Her bridal bouquet was of white roses and carnations.

The couple was attended by Waldo Maricle wearing a grey suit and Miss Stella Michur attired in pink silk marquisette with matching blusher. Also Adam Michur attired in brown and Eleanor Volk who wore blue silk marquisette. Both bridesmaids wore pearl necklaces and earrings. Mrs. Ed Michur, matron of honor, was dressed in white satin and marquisette. The ladies carried bouquets of red roses and pink and white carnations and rosaries, gifts of the bride. The groom, attired in the conventional blue, wore a carnation boutonniere as did his attendants. The bride’s mother wore a light blue and white sheer dress with pink carnation corsage. Mrs. George Michur was dressed in pink with a corsage of pink roses. The bride’s grandmother wore a black and aqua dress and corsage of pink carnations, while the groom’s grandmother was attired in a navy blue dress trimmed with flowered Jersey rose corsage.

The reception to the couple was held at the American Legion Hall in Thorp, where 150 guests enjoyed the wedding dinner and dance. The hall was decorated in white, pink and blue with the wedding cake adorning the bride and groom’s table. Bouquets of snapdragons and sweet peas were centered at the guests’ tables.

The newlyweds will make their home on the Michur farm, where the groom is engaged in farming and trucking.

Kraft, Aurora, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. James Maricle and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Al Hemmersbach and children of Greenwood.
