Gierl, Killian (18 Nov. 1888 - 5 May 1958)

Killian Gierl of the town of Hull, Wisconsin died at 11:10 P.M. Monday at the age of 69 years at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks. Funeral services are being conducted this Thursday morning in St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. John Pinion officiating, and burial will be made in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Gierl was born on November 18, 1888, in the town of Hull and lived and farmed there all his life. He was educated in the Colby schools.

Mr. Gierl, a bachelor, is survived by two brothers, Louis and George, who lived with him at home, and four sisters, Mrs. Katherine Seabury of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Ida Lukowicz of Colby, Mrs. Hugo Dehn of Clintonville and Mrs. Mary Diedrich of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Mr. Gierl was well and favorably known here and was respected for his industrious and Christian habits. His friends will remember him always.

Funeral services for Killian Gierl, age 69, were held in St. Mary’s Catholic church last Thursday morning, Rev. John B. Pinion officiating, and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers, all nephews, were John Lukowicz, Leo J. Lukowicz, Morris Gierl, Peter Gierl, Edward Gierl and Floyd Gierl.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Dhein of Clintonville, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gierl, Mrs. Betty Kunze, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gierl, Mrs. Lizzie Gierl and Mrs. Mary Gierl of Athens, Miss Barbara Gierl of Eau Claire, Mrs. Pat Gierl of Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hiebsch of Curtiss, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Duellman, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Klinkhammer and children and Morris Gierl of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. John Lukowicz of Owen and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Zimmerman of Osseo, Minn.
