Kaleta, Josephine (27 OCT 1890 - 26 JUL 1947)

Last rites for Mrs. Josephine Kaleta, 56 years of age of the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), were held at ten o’clock Tuesday morning, July 29, at St. Hedwig’s Church here with Father Piekarski officiating, assisted by Father Kaim.

Mrs. Kaleta passed away at 4:45 Saturday morning, July 26, 1947 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield following a lingering illness.

The deceased, whose maiden name was Josephine Nowak, was born on Oct. 27, 1890, in Poland. She was united in marriage to Stanley Kaleta in 1912 in Poland and came to America in 1915. At that time they purchased a farm southeast of Thorp and that was her home until death.

Surviving are her husband, Stanley, and eleven children, Peter, Victoria, Florence, Leon and Emil of Thorp, Mrs. Clara Kmety, Mrs. Rosalie Grzelak and Mrs. Veronica Winkowski and Charles Kaleta of Chicago, Mrs. Harriet Mamayek of Milwaukee, Mrs. Mary Kaminski of Dearborn, Mich., also twelve grandchildren and other relatives in Poland.

Interment was made in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, the following serving as pallbearers: Vincent Przybylski, Frank Meske, Peter Zukowski, Anton Przybylski, Victor Zielinski and Frank Arcisewski.

Persons from out of town here to attend the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. W. Mamayek of Milwaukee; Mrs. Henry Kaminski and children of Dearborn, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Al Winkowski and children, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Grzelak Jr., and daughter Christine, Mrs. Michael Kmety, Mrs. M. Winkowski, Hubert Long, all of Chicago.
