Potapenko, Dorothy (8 NOV 1947)

Miss Dorothy Potapenko, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Potapenko of Stanley, Wis., became the bride of Michael Peleschak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Peleschak of Lublin, in a ceremony performed by Rev. M. Maletick at St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church at Lublin on Saturday morning, Nov. 8th at 10:30 o’clock.

The couple was attended by Nick Peleschak and Eleanore Filipiak, who wore a brown velvet swallowtail jacket and green pet skirt with headpiece to match.

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white brocaded satin, with sweetheart neckline, long pointed sleeves and long train. She wore a tiara of orange blossoms and long lace edged veil and carried a cascade bouquet of white mums and roses.

Mrs. Irene Jasinski, matron of honor, wore a jacket identical to that of the first bridesmaid with yellow net skirt and matching headpiece. Other bridesmaids were Mary Peleschak, Catherine Sweda and Margie Piwoni, who wore similar gowns and headpieces. Ushers were Paul Potapenko Jr., Andy Bacha and Johnny Kroll, who with the groom and best man, wore tuxedos and carnation boutonnieres. The bridesmaids wore rhinestone chokers and lace hankies, the bride’s gift and carried bouquets of giant green and yellow mums.

A reception was held for the newlyweds at the Lublin Club Hall where dinner and supper was served to 300 guests.

The happy couple will reside near Lublin, where the groom is engaged in farming.

Out of town guests at the wedding were Matt Peleschak, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Wozniak, Nick Peleschak, John Kroll, Andrew and Julia Sweda, of Chicago; Mrs. Betty Sefrumming of Evanston; Mr. and Mrs. John Skapyak and family of Clayton, Miss Eleanore Filipiak of Eau Claire.
