Sazama, John P. (13 Mar. 1892 - 17 Sept. 1958)

John P. Sazama died at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital Wednesday morning at 3:00 A.M. at the age of 66 years, a cerebral hemorrhage being the cause of his death. He had been in ill health the past year and had been hospitalized since August 22. Funeral services will be held in St. Mary’s Catholic church Saturday morning at 11:00 A.M. and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. A Christian Mothers’ rosary will be said Thursday at 9:15 P.M., a Men’s Foresters rosary Friday at 8:45 P.M. and the general rosary Friday at 9:00 P.M.

Mr. Sazama was born in the town of Hull on March 13, 1892. He married Ida Schilling on Aug. 22, 1922, in Colby, Wis. They made their home on a farm in the town of Hull.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, James of Auburndale, Leon and Sylvester at home; and one daughter, Mrs. Gerhardt (Marie) Umnus of Stratford; a brother, Paul Sazama of Town Hull; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Wallner of Milwaukee and Mrs. Anna Bradow of Two Harbors, Minn.; his mother, Mrs. John Sazama, Sr., of Two Harbors, Minn., and two grand children.

Mr. Sazama farmed here most of his life. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and was a veteran of World War I. He was known as a kind and indulgent husband and father, a good neighbor and diligent worker.

Funeral services for John P. Sazama were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church last Saturday morning, Rev. Hugo Diers officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Willard Wallner, John Brill, Glen Schilling, Alphonse Schraufnagel, Floyd Van Dreel and Ervin Schilling. Military services were conducted by members of the V.F.W. post of Colby, Wis.
