Lechner, Estelle (22 December 1904 - 22 November 1970)
Mrs. Fred Lechner, 65, of Rt. 1 Merrillan, died Sunday, November 22, at the Black River Falls Memorial Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Lechner were to be conducted Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph’s in Black River Falls. Burial will be made in Resurrection Cemetery in Chicago, Ill., on Friday.
The former Estelle Bulak was born in Scranton, Pa., on December 22, 1904. She moved to Chicago, when young and later married Fred Lechner there. They moved to Ojibwa and lived there until 1937 when they moved to Merrillan.
Survivors include her husband, and nine children: Mrs. Alfred (Dolores) Chadd, East Chicago, Ind.; Mrs. Philip (Lorraine) Franklin, Grayslake, Ill.; Mary Ann Lechner, Merrillan; Fred Lechner, Jr., Chicago, Ill.; Joseph Lechner, Milton Junction; Robert Lechner, Kenosha; Richard Lechner, Lake Geneva; Kenneth Lechner, Hammond, Ind.; and Ronald Lechner, Chicago, Ill. She is also survived by thirty-one grandchildren.
A news note in the same issue: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lechner and family of Kenosha were weekend visitors at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schultz. While they were here Mr. Lechner’s mother, Mrs. Estelle Lechner of Merrillan, passed away. The family planned to return home to Kenosha after the funeral on Wednesday
