Klick, John (26 DEC 1894 - 21 JAN 1948)

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church at ten o’clock Monday morning, Jan. 26th for John Klick, who died at the Stanley hospital of injuries received when struck by an automobile on the night of Jan. 21, 1948. He had reached the age of 53 years and 26 days. The requiem mass was sung by St. Hedwig’s priest, Father F. Piekarski, assisted by Father Kamla and Father Polack of Stanley.

John Klick was born in Poland on Dec. 26, 1894. At the age of eight years he came to America with his parents who resided for some time in Pennsylvania. John was seventeen year of age when he came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.0, and lived since that time in the Town of Worden. On Aug. 23, 1921 he was united in marriage to Pearl Kmieciak of Thorp.

He is survived by his father, Thomas Klick of Stanley, and his wife Pearl, and four sons, Sgt. Frank Klick in the U. S. Army at Camp Hood, Texas, Edwin, Robert and John Jr., at home; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. Wayne Sondgeroth) and Valeria of Thorp; one brother, Frank of South St. Paul; two sisters, Anna (Mrs. Jos. Tobola) of Thorp and Mary (Mrs. Leo Kmieciak) of South St. Paul.

His mother and one brother Joseph preceded him in death.

Interment took place at St. Hedwig’s Cemetery with the following acting as pallbearers: Thomas Tobola, Wm. Tobola, Leo Hedler, Wm. Brzezinski, Walter Jarocki and Harry Lencowski.
