Blenkle, Dorothy (1926? - 2 FEB 1948)

Mrs. Dorothy Blenkle, 21, who was shot Nov. 6th in a cottage at the Rock Dam Resort, died Monday in Cook County Hospital, Ill.

An inquest into the fatal shooting was continued this week until Feb.10 to enable Chicago police and Wisconsin authorities to conclude their investigations.

Albert Prochaska, 28, was place on probation for three years at Milwaukee, Jan. 23, after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault with intent to do bodily harm in connection with the shooting.

Her father, Emil Fischbach, a plumbing supply dealer in Evanston, Ill., testified this week that while his daughter lay in the hospital she once told him "He (Prochaska) pointed the gun at me and shot me."

Fischbach said that because of Mrs. Blenkle’s condition he did not question her further and that she never told him whether the shooting was accidental.

After the shooting she was driven 300 miles from Neillsville for treatment in Chicago.

Chicago detectives once questioned the woman and sent her statement to Wisconsin authorities.
