Kvapil, Helen (3 JUN 1948)
Miss Helen Kvapil, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kvapil of Boyd, became the bride of John Klay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Klay of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), in a double ring ceremony at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, June 3, 1948, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The Mr. Rotermund read the service.
The bride, in a white satin gown with long train and lace trimmed veil, was given in marriage by her father. She carried a bouquet of white roses, carnations and lilies of the valley, and wore a pearl necklace, gift of the groom. She was attended by her sister, Mildred, as maid of honor, and the groom’s sister, Esther Klay, as bridesmaid. They wore Nile green and orchid taffeta, respectively, with matching gloves and headdress and carried bouquets of daisies. Judy Rutz, in white satin, was flower girl.
The groom was attended by his brother, Walter, as best man and William Catura as groomsman. Ushers were Malcolm Hattaner of Cadott and Norman Beahr of Withee.
A reception in the church parlors was held after the ceremony.
A wedding dance and shower was held in the evening at Rainbow Gardens, with music furnished by Del Forman.
The young couple will make their home in Cadott where the groom is employed.
