Ladwig, Frank (18 Nov. 1887 - 4 Jan. 1959)

Frank Ladwig died Sunday night at the age of 71 years at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital of a heart attack. Funeral services were held in Zion Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Zion Lutheran School choir sang "Jerusalem is My Home" and "The Lord is My Shepherd." Pall bearers were Fred Schwierske, Edwin Frome, Sr., Carl Domer, Walter Drews, Henry Schauss and Rudolph Wiersig.

Mr. Ladwig was born on November 18, 1887, in Germany and came to America as a young man. On October 20, 1910, he was married to Emma Krumm in Iowa. After their marriage they moved to the town of Hull and engaged in farming until a short time ago when they retired and moved to the city of Colby, Wis.

Mr. Ladwig is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Luella) Krauter of Colby, Mrs. Orville (Clara) Westberg of Colby and Mrs. Walter (Lila) Anderson of Spencer; one son, Edwin Ladwig of Marshfield; two brothers, Otto Ladwig of Lime Spring, Iowa, and Fred Ladwig of Stanley; one sister, Mrs. Elsa Leitz of Charles City, Iowa.

Mr. Ladwig was well and favorably known in this community for his fine Christian character, and, being of a friendly disposition, had many friends who are sorry to hear of his death.
