Myers, Elaine (15 FEB 1944)
At 4 o’clock last Tuesday afternoon Miss Elaine Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Myers of Chicago, became the bride of S/Sgt. Harold O. Schmidt of Fort Bliss, Tex., only son of Mrs. Blanche Schmidt of Loyal, in a wedding ceremony performed at the Methodist church in Chicago. The Rev. Lester R. Minion read the double ring service.
Attendants were Wayne and Dorothy Malott, relatives of the bride.
The bride wore a sheer wool dress and hat to match. Flowers were white and pink carnations.
The wedding supper was served at Math Igler’s casino. A reception was held at the bride’s home on Feb. 20.
Sergeant Schmidt is in the anti-aircraft training at Fort Bliss and will return there. His bride is a bookkeeper in Chicago and will remain there for the present.
Mrs. Elmer Luepke of Spencer, a sister of Sergeant Schmidt, went to Chicago to attend her brother’s wedding.
After their wedding, they came to Loyal to visit with Sergeant Schmidt’s mother, sisters and grandmother for three days. Many friends came to call at the Schmidt home to wish the bride and groom luck and leave their gifts.
The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
