Miss Mary Ann Meske, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Meske, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Mr. Charles Gettler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She was attired in a white ninon over satin colonial styled gown with train, large bishop sleeves, and lace inserts and a fingertip veil edged in lace and caught to a seed pearl and rhinestone headdress. Her bridal bouquet was of white roses and calla lilies. The blue heart and chain, the gift of the groom, was worn around her neck.
The little flower girl, Kathleen Schwentner, niece of the groom, was very lovely in a gown of blue net over sharkskin, trimmed with a yellow velvet ribbon and a matching bonnet. She carried a bouquet of white and yellow baby mums tied with a blue ribbon.
She chose as her maid of honor, Betty Meske, Thorp, her sister.
The bridesmaids were Beatrice and Agnes Meske, Thorp, sister of the bride. They all wore gowns of yellow ninon over sharkskin. The neckline and the peplum of their dresses were trimmed with gold sequins and they had ballerina skirts. Their headdress matched their dresses and they wore gold sandals. Gold lockets completed their outfits. They carried bouquets of white mums and blue asters tied with blue ribbon.
The groom wore a black tuxedo and white rose boutonniere. The best man, Eugene Oberle, cousin of the bride, and the groomsman, Lester Gettler, brother of the groom, also wore black tuxedos and white carnation boutonnieres.
The bride’s mother was attired in a royal blue dress with black accessories, and the groom’s mother wore a dark green with matching accessories. Both wore corsages of yellow roses.
Immediately after the ceremony a reception was held at the Thorp High School Auditorium for close friends and relatives. Music was furnished by Martin Moldrem’s Orchestra.
