Engagement of their daughter Gertrude Lorraine to Pfc. Richard R. Milligan, was announced by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pawlak, 2814 Illinois Avenue, South Gate, Calif., at a formal dinner recently. The couple plan to be married the first part of next year.

Miss Pawlak and her parents were former residents of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). They moved to California 13 years ago, where they now make their home. Since then they made many trips here to visit relatives and friends.

Gertrude received her schooling in California, graduated and attended both college and art school there. She is now employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in South Gate.

Her fiancé, son of Mrs. W. L. Wyatt of Dallas, Texas, attended a military academy in Missouri. He is now stationed for a short while with the Air Force in Tacoma, Wash.
