Schoening, Terrence Robert (13 July 1947 - 26 November 2008)
Terrence "Terry" Robert Schoening, 61, Owen, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, in the Palliative Care unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield after being admitted Nov. 19, 2008.
Terry was born July 13, 1947, to Robert and Rachel (Hammond) Schoening in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Edina High School and attended the University of Minnesota where he graduated from the College of Pharmacy. He met Cheryl Rohland in 1971, and they were married Sept. 9, 1972, at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. Terry and Cheryl lived in Stillwater, MN, and Terry worked as a pharmacist for Group Health Plan. In 1993 they moved to Owen, near the farm where Cheryl grew up. They both loved the country and enjoyed the peace that comes with living close to the earth. He led a rich and valiant life despite the many complications of diabetes. Terry was a champion of life who inspired everyone who knew him.
Terry is survived by Cheryl, his wife and partner of 36 years; mother, Rachel Schoening of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Susan (Gerald) Gustafson; nephew, Paul (Joann) Gustafson of Tucson, AZ; niece, Gail (Doug) Jacobs of Shakopee, MN; mother-in-law, Audrey Przybylski; brothers-in-law, Mike Rohland, Greg Rohland, Doug (Laurie) Rohland of Withee, Dave Rohland of Altoona and Tim Rohland of Owen; sisters-in-law, Cindy Goessl, Donna Roder of Owen, and Jody (Roger) Walworth of Medford; and many other nieces, nephews and relatives. Many cherished friends will miss him.
Terry was preceded in death by his father.
A "Celebration of Life" will take place July 2009.
