Ramona McKevitt, 77, of Neillsville died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

Ramona Ann Holmgreen was born March 1, 1931, in Black River Falls, the daughter of Russell and Beatrice (Severson) Holmgreen. She attended and graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1949. She was then united in marriage to Lawrence McKevitt Jr. July 8, 1950, in Black River Falls. Larry was a military man, and Ramona traveled with him from city to city and country to country, along the way working various jobs as a secretary and waitress and also giving birth to five sons who were the love of her life. They moved to Neillsville in 1970 and Ramona became the manager of the Neillsville Clinic. She divorced Larry in 1975 and retired as the clinic manager in 1993.

She was a member of the Business and Professional Women in Neillsville. She enjoyed bowling and she loved to read, crochet and travel. But most of all, she loved her sons and spending time with her two grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Randy McKevitt of Washington DC, Brian (Becky) McKevitt of Neillsville and Craig McKevitt of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren, Katie McKevitt of Eau Claire and Jacob McKevitt of Winona, MN. Ramona is further survived by two nieces, Shawn Holmgreen of Milwaukee and Shannon Racic of Illinois, and a nephew, James McCauley of Neillsville.
