Sumiec, Clara (30 AUG 1949)

The Rev. Father Francis Piekarski performed a double ring ceremony Aug. 30, 1949 at ten o’clock Mass at St. Hedwig’s Church, united in marriage Miss Clara Sumiec, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sumiec, to Robert M. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Allen of Bainbridge, Ga.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white slipper satin gown fashioned with a square neckline trimmed with seeded pearls and a ruffle imported Chantilly lace trimmed and designed the same. The fitted bodice dress coming to a point at the waistline was outlined with cording. Satin covered buttons extended down to the waistline with a full sweeping train. Her fingertip veil fell from a coronet of orange blossoms and seeded pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses, gardenias and baby mums.

Miss Marcia Sumiec, niece of the bride, attending as maid of honor, was dressed in a lovely yellow marquisette, sweetheart neckline, full skirt gown. Miss Mary Zupanci wore a similar gown of blue marquisette. The girls had pink and carnations headpieces trimmed with yellow and blue ribbons.

Serving as best man was Robert Bandlow. The groom and best man wore navy suits with lighter blue ties.

Immediately following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the P.N.A. Hall.

After the wedding the couple left for Tampa, Fla., where they will make their home. The groom is employed by the Tampa Electric Co.

Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bandlow, Jr., of Tampa, Fla.; Mrs. Andrew Sorg and son Andrew of Iarien, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Noga and daughter Dolores, Miss Marcia Sumiec and Mrs. Florian Janis and sons, of Chicago, Ill.; Miss Mary Zupanci, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bandlow, Sr., of Cleveland, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley, Sumiec of Cornell, Wis.
