Marten, William (4 June 1892 - 2 Oct. 1939)

Abbotsford, Wis. - William Marten, 47, Abbotsford, died at 3:20 o'clock Monday Afternoon at Mount View Sanatorium at Wausau, following a 12 year's illness. Death was caused by empyema.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran Church at Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. J. Brandt of Dorchester will conduct the rites. Interment will take place in the Town of Brighton Cemetery.

Mr. Marten was born in the Town of Brighton June 4, 1892. He was married there to Miss Elsie Schmidt Dec. 12, 1915. Mr. and Mrs. Marten lived in Spencer until 15 years ago when they moved to Abbotsford, Wis.

Surviving are his wife and five children, Mrs. Raymond Bunkleman, Milan, and Lorraine, Eugene, Dewaine, and Billy Marten all at home.

Four sisters, Mrs. Annie Kneer, Madison, and Mrs. Walter (Emma) Bruesewitz, Mrs. Charles (Ida) Justman, and Mrs. Albert (Tillie) Manthe, all of Spencer, and four brothers, Emil Marten, Spencer; Frank Marten, Fremont; Alvin Marten, Ladysmith; and Herman Marten, Milwaukee, also survive.
