Smith, Charlotte (Marriage - 21 Nov. 1959)

Miss Charlotte Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Smith of Colby, and Anton Hendricks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hendricks, Sr., exchanged marriage vows in St. Mary’s Catholic church Saturday morning at 10:00 A.M., Rev. James Stauber officiating at the ceremony. Mrs. Clarence Smith was matron of honor and Mrs. Frank Hendricks and Mrs. Delmar Smith, Jr., were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by Clarence Smith, Frank Hendricks and Delmar Smith, Jr.

The bride was attired in a traditional gown of imported Chantilly lace with a long chapel train. Her finger-tip veil of imported illusion fell from a double rippled coronet embedded with pearls. Her white prayer book from the groom, with wood violet orchid on top, had streamers of pink roses and lily of the valley. Her attendants wore ballerina gowns of wood violet with short sleeves and scooped neckline, fitted bodice with a bow. Matching crowns held illusion veils. Their wrist corsages consisted of violet mums, white carnations and pink roses.

Honored with corsages were Mrs. Lily Yoder, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert King and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Abbeglen.

Mothers of the bride and groom chose gray dresses with black accessories. Corsages of white and red carnations completed their attire.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents and dinner was served at the Colby Hotel.

Mrs. Hendricks attended Colby High School and the groom is a graduate of Cumberland High School. He is employed at the Badger Turkey Industry at Barron, Wis.
