Sazama, Veronica (16 Feb. 1872 - 24 Nov. 1959)

Mrs. Wenzel Sazama died Tuesday morning, Nov. 24, at the age of 87 years at Kaukauna where she made her home the past six years. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 9:30 o’clock in St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. John Pinion officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. The Christian Mothers recited the rosary at the Lulloff Funeral Home at 8:00 P.M. Friday and the general rosary service was held at 8:30 P.M. Pall bearers were E. A. Brehm, Ed Kropelin, Herman Podevels, Ed Grauman, Fred Schmelzer, Richard Goldschmidt.

Veronica Sellung was born in Germany on February 16, 1872, and came to Colby when a girl and lived on a farm in the town of Hull for many years. Her husband preceded her in death 13 years ago.

Surviving are three sons, George Sazama of Texas, Matthew Sazama of Kaukauna and Valentine Sazama of Colby; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Weiss of Kaukauna, Mrs. Elizabeth Hamilton and Miss Leona Sazama, both of Milwaukee; 10 grand children; 16 great grand children; two sisters, Mrs. Nick Stockhausen of Milwaukee and Mrs. Joseph Schilling of Colby; two brothers, Joseph Sellung of Wausau and Francis Sellung of Colby, Wis.

Mrs. Sazama was well and favorably known here for her fine Christian character and industrious and friendly disposition.
