Trybula, Goldie Agnes (5 August 1923 - 1 October 2013)

Goldie A. Trybula, age 90, of Thorp, passed away at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Marshfield, on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Al Jakubowski officiated and burial followed in New St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Kim Vetter, Travis Trybula, Corry Trybula, Chad Trybula, Jim Trybula and Jerrett Trybula. Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Sunday, October 6, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and at the church, on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Goldie Agnes Briski was born August 5, 1923, in Greenwood, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Katrina Ann (Minerich) Briski. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at area country schools. After completing her education, Goldie moved to Chicago and worked for General Electric as a welder. She was united in marriage to George H. Trybula at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, in Thorp, on June 24, 1944. Together they farmed in the Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp, until George’s death in January of 1975. She then worked as a cook at the Char Lounge Supper Club and at the Thorpedo restaurant for many years until retiring in 2000.

In her spare time, Goldie enjoyed going to bazaars, festivals, gardening, canning and eating. She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and its PCCW.

She is survived by four children: James (Jeanne) Trybula of Franklin, WI, Robert (Judy) Trybula of Withee, Ronald (Pam) Trybula of Franklin, WI, and Carol (Rick) Hayes of Jackson, WI; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother, Ivan Briski of Withee; one sister, Olga Kolonits of Brookfield, IL; one sister-in-law, Helen Briski of Niles, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Goldie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George.
